April 5th the date for Suryakumar to join the Mumbai Indians

In the IPL 2024, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to make his debut for the Mumbai Indians shortly. He has been cleared by the National Cricket Academy, according to Cricbuzz, and he will play with the team on Friday, April 4.

When he struck a century in the third Twenty20 International against South Africa in December 2023, the top-ranked T20I batter had not participated in a competitive match since then. But during that series, he tore a grade 2 ankle ligament, necessitating surgery.

After undergoing surgery for a sports hernia, Suryakumar’s return to cricket was further postponed while he completed his recovery at the NCA facility in Bengaluru.

The 33-year-old will join the team for their Wankhede Stadium practice as they get ready for their upcoming home game on April 7 in the afternoon against the Delhi Capitals. Depending on how he does in the net session in terms of fitness, the team management will decide whether or not to allow him to continue.

This season, the Mumbai Indians haven’t had the best of starts, having dropped their last three games under new captain Hardik Pandya. MI dropped their first-ever home game against Rajasthan Royals earlier this week, adding to their home failures against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
