Phil Salt to join RCB in IPL 2025

England wicket-keeper Phil Salt has been picked by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for IPL 2025 after a successful stint with KKR

Phil Salt has been signed by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to take Will Jacks’s position in the lineup in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Salt, an IPL player for the Delhi Capitals the previous season, was not sold at the 2024 auction. The IPL website has announced that KKR has acquired the England wicket-keeper batsman for his reserve fee of 1.5 crore rupees. “Phil Salt has been named by the Kolkata Knight Riders to replace Jason Roy, who withdrew from the forthcoming TATA IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. This will be Salt’s second season in the IPL after going unsold in the auction after playing for the Delhi Capitals the previous year.”

“The aggressive English wicket-keeper batsman, who was bought at his reserve price of INR 1.5 crore, produced two straight T20I hundreds against the West Indies in December of last year, having the IPL Match Betting experts very thrilled.

According to an IPL statement, “His 48-ball century in the 4th T20I at Trinidad is also the joint-fastest for England.”
