9. 6/10 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru

One could have assumed that they could form a very strong team that could contend for the title given the amount of money they had at the beginning of the auction. Although they sought to assemble a team around Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal, it was a little odd that they chose not to use RTM cards on Will Jacks and Mohammed Siraj. Jacks in particular, who only paid INR 5.25 crore.

Nevertheless, they have acquired a number of talented players, including Liam Livingstone, Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Phil Salt, and Nuwan Thushara. Additionally, they paid INR 10.75 crore for Bhuvneshwar Kumar and INR 11 crore for Jitesh Sharma. Overall, RCB could have built a far stronger base with the money they had, even though the club appears prepared to contend for the championship. Before the IPL 2025 mega-auction, the Kolkata Knight Riders kept Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, and Ramandeep Singh. Since all of these players were proven match winners and had performed admirably for the team, half of their work was completed before the auction. They wanted to reclaim as many players as possible from their 2024 championship run, but in the end, they spent over half of their cash on just one player.

When they paid an incredible INR 23.75 crore to purchase Venkatesh Iyer, KKR went bankrupt. In the mega-auction, he turned out to be the third most expensive player. 6. 7/10 for the Chennai Super Kings

If you merely look at the batting unit, the Lucknow Super Giants had an incredible auction. It’s a great deal to get Rishabh Pant, David Miller, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram at the same auction, especially since the franchise already owned Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran.
