It was the match between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Jaiswal and Buttler were the heroes.

From the beginning, both players launched an assault on the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the team’s stand-in captain, opened play with the ball and was quickly taken apart for 23 runs in just two overs.

Jos Buttler was the hard-hitter in the powerplay, who amassed a score of 54 from 22 balls before Fazalhaq Farooqi had him removed. He had seven fours and three sixes to help him in his effort. Buttler came very close to breaking his record for the fastest IPL half-century, by reaching his half-century in just 20 balls.

Furthermore, Buttler scored his 20th half-century for the Rajasthan Royals, which is a record for any player on the team. For the Jaipur-based team, Ajinkya Rahane has 19 half-centuries to his name, while Shane Watson and Sanju Samson have each struck 18.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a young batting star, also contributed to Rajasthan’s record powerplay score with a fantastic knock. Jaiswal supported Buttler, who decided to quicken the pace of the game and saw his innings through the powerplay as well.

He and captain Sanju Samson shared a 54-run partnership for the second wicket. Jaiswal scored 54 runs in 37 deliveries while batting with a heroic strike rate of 145.95 and nine fours. Afghan newcomer Fazalhaq Farooqi dismissed both of the openers for Sunrisers, bringing Rajasthan down to 139/2.
