The player with the most runs at the end of an edition is the real Orange Cap winner. During the award’s maiden season in 2008, Shaun Marsh was the first recipient. In 11 games, he amassed 616 runs for the Punjab Kings. David Warner is the only player to win three Orange Caps in 2015, 2017, and 2019.
