On December 22, England became the first team to reveal their 15-man roster for the 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. All-rounder Jacob Bethell, however, was forced to leave the team due to a hamstring injury. The 15-man Champions Trophy Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, will be without pace leader Jasprit Bumrah due to his inability to fully recover from a back ailment. Conversely, Varun Chakravarthy replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal in the final team.
All-rounder Mitchell Marsh, captain Pat Cummins, and bowler Josh Hazlewood were later ruled out due to injury, despite Australia having declared a 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy. After the deadline, New Zealand substituted Jacob Duffy for Ben Sears, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury and needed Event Technical Committee consent.
